Visit the best Zoo in Latin America, with its exotic animal species exclusive of Chiapas. To walk around this zoo is to take a trip into the jungle but right in the middle of the city, where you’ll find infinite plants, animals, sounds, aromas, shapes and colors. One of the most visited attractions is the black jaguar, unique in its species. This Zoo is located in the southern side of Tuxtla Gutierrez. You can arrive through the south bypass taking the cerro hueco avenue. You’ll know the place for the tropical forest where it’s located. The approximate time to visit this place is 2 hours and we recommend wearing comfortable clothing. Right after this, we head to an incredible boat tour in the Sumidero Canyon, where you can closely admire the mexican caiman and luckily the “acutus” crocodile, unique in its type, found only a few years ago. This canyon has a vertical wall of 1000 meters over the sea level. It is considered one of the most spectacular geologic faults of America, with walls that reach 1,300 meters from the depths, where the waters of the river flow. This tour takes about 2 hours. At the end of this visit, we move to the city of Chiapa de Corzo, where you’ll visit the oldest pile with crafts shops and exquisite food, including the traditional “Cochito” and the “Pozol”, a typical drink prepared with cacao and corn. Rappel and Rock Climbing

River Rafting
One of the activities growing on popularity that is not practiced just about anywhere is the Rafting Activity. At the El Ocote Reserve there is a geological fracture the bottom features a water flow from both the affluent and mighty Grijalva River and La Venta River-Canyon; located 60 km away west the Chiapa’s capital.
This canyon also known as the Sacred Canyon features a water flow of 80 km long, which width decreases from 90 to 10 meters. As the walls gap narrows down, the flow’s pace increases, especially on rainy seasons, therefore the best time of the year to practice rafting is between the months of January and May. The challenge and the activity excitement along make of this journey an unforgettable experience.
